Godfrey Engraving was purchased by Hession Distributing Pty Ltd in 1988. We have built our reputation on supplying quality engraved signs to both retail and trade customers, and we have been at our current premises for the last 30 years. How did we start? Local former Denistone resident Jack Godfrey started the business in 1962, operating initially out of his garage. As the business grew he moved to commercial premises in Ryedale Road, West Ryde, and then to our current location in 1986. The business was then known as “J.A. Godfrey Engraving Pty Ltd”. The business grew by supplying engraved panels and labels to electricians, electronics companies, security suppliers, and many local and intrastate manufacturers and resellers. We particularly gained a reputation for our exclusive professional brass nameplates and have become one of the major suppliers to customers right around Australia. We are currently celebrating 57 years of business, providing professional engraving and signage services. What do we do?
